Why Your Support Matters

Every year, Calgary Search and Rescue members volunteer thousands of hours to assist Calgary Police Service and RCMP with evidence searches, support missing-person investigations, deliver preventative safety education, and strengthen community preparedness across Calgary.
We train year-round in all conditions, maintain our own gear, and respond when needed.
CALSARA does not receive regular government funding, so community support plays a key role in ensuring our volunteers have the equipment, training, and resources required to stay ready.

Your Donation Helps to Provide

  • High-quality training so volunteers can work safely and effectively alongside partner agencies
  • Up-to-date equipment, including radios, GPS units, safety gear, and field supplies
  • Public education and prevention programs, including AdventureSmart programs  and public safety booths across Calgary
  • Operational readiness, from mapping tools to administrative support
  • A sustainable volunteer program that allows us to recruit, train, and support new member

One-Time or Monthly Donations

A simple and impactful way to support our volunteer team. Gifts of any amount go a long way — every contribution helps ensure equipment stays reliable, training is current and volunteers stay prepared.

Wills
When you write or update your will, you can name Calgary Search and Rescue Association as a beneficiary of a portion of your estate.
Example wording:
“I give to Calgary Search & Rescue Association (Charitable Registration Number: 891284747RR0001)], the sum of $_______ (or ________% of my estate) to be used in support of its general charitable purposes.”
Life Insurance
You may name Calgary Search and Rescue Association as the owner and/or partial beneficiary of a new or existing life insurance policy.

CALSARA is a registered charitable partner with the Calgary Foundation. Donors who hold endowment or donor-advised funds with the Foundation can direct gifts to support our ongoing operations and volunteer programs.
